Financial aid Federal Title IV Financial Aid If you qualify on the basis of need, you can receive substantial assistance through grant and loan programs. We recommend that you apply for admission before you submit your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). You must be accepted for admission to the Institute in order to receive your initial award letter. The following guidelines can help you through the process:

Step 1: Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

The best way to file the free FAFSA is on-line at :
https://studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa
You will need to complete all sections of the FAFSA online and have the following information ready:

ICAOM school code 037353
Previous year's tax infomation
Social Security Number
Checking and/or Savings account
Parent or legal guardian tax info if you are a dependent

When you have completed all the sections required by FAFSA, go to the next steps

Step 2: Complete the Master Promissory Note (eMPN) Application
Please log-on to U.S. Department of Education Direct Loans to begin their online eMPN application:

Step 3: Complete the Entrance Counseling Application
Please log-on to U.S. Department of Education Direct Loans to begin the online Entrance Counseling application:

The process for completing an electronic MPN is simple. You will need to have your Department of Education issued PIN to begin the process. You can begin the process by choosing Complete New MPN for Student Loans then select the Unsubsidized - Federal Direct Loans available to any eligible undergraduate or graduate/professional student and begin this process.

Current Students Filing a Renewal Copies of the student's and/or parents' previous year federal income tax returns and supporting documents (e.g. W-2 forms) will be needed to complete the FAFSA renewal process on-line at:

Military Tuition Assistance and VA Benefits If you wish to use your GI Bill® education benefits for our program, you are required to contact ICAOM's VA benefit coordinator to certify of your courses.  You may contact us directly at: 808-521-2288 or E-mail: faa@orientalmedicine.edu

The VA educational benefits program requires ICAOM to ensure that it will not impose any penalty, including the assessment of late fees, denial of access to classes, libraries, or other institutional facilities, or require that a covered individual borrow additional funds, or any covered individual because of the individual’s inability to meet his or her financial obligation to ICAOM due to the delayed disbursement of a payment to be provided by the VA under Chapter 31 or 33 of this title.  (PL 115-407 Section 103 and 104).
